London Amlin, 14, Cottonwood, was part of a group of nine members of the Redding Kart Klub who attended the International Karting Federations (Go Kart) 4-cycle Sprint and Shifter Grand Nationals held July 1-3 at Richland, Washington. They set at least one new track record at the host club.

London took First place in the Junior 2 Animal Methanol class after running second for most of the race, passing the leader just as the last lap got underway in a thrilling win. For that effort he received the first place “Duffy” award. London also took second in the Junior 2 World formula Heavy Class which was run in the rain and won a "Screaming Eagle" award for being the fastest qualifier in the Junior 2 Animal Gas Class and is the new track record holder in that class at the Tri-Cities Kart Club in Richland.

Justin Foux, 14, of Red Bluff won the "Screaming Eagle" award as the fastest qualifier in the Junior 2 Animal Methanol class just ahead of London who qualified as the second fastest. Justin’s father, Keith Foux, took a fifth place in the Sr. Animal Masters class. Keith is the president of the Shasta Kart Klub.

Robert Towne Jr. of Red Bluff took Third place in the Senior Animal Heavy class and a fifth in the Senior Animal Class. (not a typo, there is a “heavy” and a “regular weight” class in the “Senior Animal” class)
